Earlier last week, Ellen Page called out Chris Pratt for his contribution to Hillsong Church’s alleged anti-LGBTQ motto.

Ellen said, “If you are a famous actor and you belong to an organisation that hates a certain group of people, don’t be surprised if someone simply wonders why it’s not addressed.

Being anti-LGBTQ is wrong, there aren’t two sides. The damage it causes is severe. Full stop.”

In 2015, Hillson’s Senior Pastor, Brian Houston said, “We do not affirm a gay lifestyle and because of this we do not knowingly have actively gay people in positions of leadership, either paid or unpaid.” — which is the comment Ellen is referring to in this case.

Chris believes the church has “helped” him “tremendously” “offering love and support”, and goes as far to say, “nothing could be further from the truth” when referring to the church being anti-LGBTQ.

He doesn’t address the comment made by Brian in 2015, but says, “No church defines me or my life, and I am not a spokesman for any church or any group of people.”

Many have become angered by Chris’s involvement with the church especially when Ellen pointed out previous comments made by their senior.
