Gabrielle Union has spoken for the first time since she was fired from America’s Got Talent.

Union was a judge for one season before getting laid off from the talent show, with reports speculating she was “difficult” after she spoke up over an alleged racist joke.

According to multiple reports, Jay Leno allegedly made a racist joke on camera which left Gabrielle with no choice but to speak up about the incident. She would allegedly ask drag performers their preferred pronoun and apparently called out Simon Cowell for smoking inside the building due to being allergic to smoke.

NBC responded to the claims, saying, “America’s Got Talent has a long history of inclusivity and diversity in both our talent and the acts championed by the show,”

Since it was revealed the 47-year-old was let go from the NBC show, hundreds of supporters have praised the L.A.’s Finest actress, including her husband, Dwyane Wade.

In response to the situation and ongoing reports, Gabrielle has spoken for the first time on social media, saying, “So many tears, so much gratitude. THANK YOU! Just when you feel lost, adrift, alone… you got me up off the ground. Humbled and thankful, forever,”

Candice Patton, who plays Irin West Allen in The Flash, wrote, “You stand up for us, so we stand up for you!” with many defending Union for standing up for alleged workplace issues.
