Gal Gadot has reflected that her celebrity cover video of Imagine was “in poor taste”.
The video was shared across social media and intended as a message of solidarity, however many fans criticised it as “tone deaf” and out of touch.
Addressing the controversy in a conversation with InStyle, the Wonder Woman actress said she had “all the pure intentions” when the video was made but admitted that in hindsight it “wasn’t the right thing”.
“The pandemic was in Europe and Israel before it came here [the US] in the same way. I was seeing where everything was headed. But [the video] was premature. It wasn’t the right timing, and it wasn’t the right thing,” she said. “It was in poor taste. All pure intentions, but sometimes you don’t hit the bulls-eye, right?”
Gadot is currently awaiting the release of her upcoming feature, Death on the Nile, which is scheduled to arrive in theatres on February 11.
