Mindy Kaling Claims It Was “Kind Of Easy” Hiding Second Pregnancy Earlier This Year

Mindy Kaling has revealed that it was easier to hide her second pregnancy earlier this year.

The 41-year-old actress told Elle magazine that her second pregnancy was easier to keep a secret from her fanbase and the media – mainly due to the lockdown restrictions and the stay at home message.

She explained, “I mean, clearly, I was not going anywhere, like everybody else, so nobody found me out. So that was kind of easy. And then just being at home and taking photos, I’d largely just kind of shot around my pregnancy. Shot myself from the waist up and then also wore baggy things. I never got super huge, so it was a little bit easier.”

Going into detail about her newborn, Kaling says, “I mean, he’s still so cute. I think he’s like seven weeks old, so I haven’t really seen what his personality is going to be like, but I do know that my daughter really likes the fact he’s a boy. I think she feels a little bit less competitive.

When I told her she was going to have a little brother, she didn’t understand he was going to come out a baby. I think she thought he was going to come out two years old, like her.

So, the day before I went to the hospital, she was hiding all of her toys. That was her big thing. We’d be like, ‘Kit, where’s your Elmo?’ And we found it stuffed under the bed because she was hiding it so her brother wouldn’t take it. She was delighted when she found out he was so little and would not be interested in playing with toys for a long, long time. Now she’s really on board with it.”
