Nicki Minaj announced that she has retired from music to “have my family” — Queen Latifah believes this is temporary.

The rapper made the announcement on September 5, 2019, on social media, saying, ‘I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE.”

After an outpour of sadness and disapproving supporters claiming that her way of announcing her retirement was “insensitive”, she followed up by saying, “I’m still right here. Still madly in love with you guys & you know that. In hindsight, this should’ve been a Queen Radio discussion & it will be. I promise you guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt & insensitive, I apologise babe.”

Queen Latifah responded to her retirement announcement — “she must be in love and happy … she has been grinding for a long time.” before saying, “she’ll be back … let her live first.”

If the Queen has made the claim that Nicki will return, then it must be true.
