Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk says that original star Jung Ho-yeon could return in season two.

The South Korean actress portrayed Kang Sae-byeok in the internationally acclaimed Netflix series.

She was one of the few characters to survive until the end of the show, alongside Lee Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun and Park Hae-soo as Cho Sang-woo.

Squid Game follows a group of 456 debt-ridden people who are coerced into risking their lives in a number of deadly children’s games, all in the hopes of winning a $38.6 million cash prize.

Now, speaking with Deadline during the PGA Awards ceremony, Hwang revealed that he was considering ways to return Jung to the series despite her character’s death.

Asked whether many cast members from season 1 could expect to return, Hwang replied, “No, because most of them are dead.”

“I’ll try something to bring them back in season 2,” he admitted, gesturing to Jung. “Let’s say maybe she has a twin sister, you’ll see.”

“I could change my hair colour. Let’s do a little plastic surgery,” joked Jung.
