The Wanted star Tom Parker has passed away at the age of 33 after battling terminal brain cancer.

Confirming the sad news on Instagram, Parker’s wife Kelsey said that he “fought until the very end.”

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away earlier today with all of his family by his side. Our hearts are broken,” she wrote.

Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence.”

“We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children.” she continued, “Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I’m forever proud of you.”

Parker and Kelsey married back in 2018 and shared two children together; a 2-year-old daughter, Aurelia, and a 1-year-old son, Bodhi.

In 2020 Parker informed fans that he had been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. Following extensive treatments including chemotherapy and radiotherapy, Parker said in January of 2021 that there had been a “significant reduction” in the size of his tumour.

Parker, who was a member of the hit British boyband The Wanted, reunited with bandmates for a Stand Up To Cancer gig at the Royal Albert Hall last year. The band also released a greatest hits album.

Posting their own tribute on Instagram, Parker’s bandmates Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Nathan Sykes and Jay McGuiness said they were “devastated” by his loss and were by his side in his final moments.
