NFL footballer Derek Carr has shown his support for Henry Ruggs III following his involvement in a car crash that left one woman dead.

The Las Vegas Raiders announced on Tuesday, that they had released Henry Ruggs III, after he was involved in a car crash, which led to the death of a 23-year-old woman.

According to police, Ruggs was driving at 156 mph while intoxicated, before he crashed his Corvette into another car, killing its occupant and her dog.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Ruggs teammate Derek Carr has said that he will always be there for his teammate despite him causing the crash, and that right now what “he needs is love.”

“I will always be here for him. That won’t change. I’ll prove that over the course of time to him. Not to anybody else,” he said.

“He needs people to love him right now. He’s probably feeling a certain type of way about himself right now. He needs to be loved. If no one else will do it, I’ll do it,” he added.

Ruggs appeared in court for a hearing on the matter on Wednesday and is due back in court again next week.
