Alec Baldwin has been sued by the family of Halyna Hutchins in a wrongful death lawsuit.

The 63-year-old veteran actor has been named in a lawsuit that says the safety on the set of Rust was lapsed, stating that live ammunition on the set was a lapse.

In the lawsuit, the family say, “He [Baldwin] released the revolver’s hammer, and — BAM — defendant Baldwin fired the revolver.” which is a claim that Alec himself says, that he did not pull the trigger and the gun fired itself.

Alleged text messages from a camera operator have been put forward in the claim that complain about the safety of the set, namely the weapons being used. One text reads, “We’ve now had 3 accidental discharges This is super unsafe. And wrap should be like 30-45 I think,”

The producer the alleged messages were sent to allegedly replied saying, “Accidental discharge on the firearms? Awesome. Sounds good.” — the lawsuit makes the claim that the production manager replied “with callous sarcasm,” by stating “awesome” and “sounds good.”

Other names that are mentioned in the lawsuit include David Halls (assistant director), Hannah Gutierrez-Reed (the armorer) and multiple additional names.
