Alyssa Milano Calls Relationship With Shannen Doherty “Cordial”

Alyssa Milano says her relationship with former Charmed co-star, Shannen Doherty, is “cordial”.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Milano discussed her experience working on the hit television series. When asked about Shannen – a co-star she was known to have tension with – Milano replied: “I would say we are cordial.”

“You know, I could take responsibility for a lot of our tension that we had,” she admitted. “I think a lot of our struggle came from feeling that I was in competition rather than it being a sisterhood that the show was so much about. And I have some guilt about my part in that.”

Milano also said that their past tension didn’t prevent her from reaching out when Doherty revealed her breast cancer diagnosis.

“When I heard about her diagnosis, I reached out to her. And I will send her DMs every couple of months to just check-in,” she added, “I have respect for her. Great actress, loves her family so much, and I just wish I could’ve felt strong enough in who I was to recognize that back then.”

She went on to have a similarly tense relationship with Rose McGowan – the actress who later replaced Doherty in Charmed. She accused Milano of creating a toxic work environment.
