Assault Lawsuit Against Cardi B Dismissed By Judge
Cardi B has had a $1 million dollar civil assault case against her dismissed by a judge due to a lack of evidence.
In 2018, Cardi sued internet personality star Latasha K over allegations made about her sex life and drug use. A legal battle ensued as Latasha, responded by filing a countersuit against the rapper.
Latasha claimed in her countersuit that Cardi had defamed her by spreading lies. She also accused Cardi of assaulting and threating her.
According to Latasha, the threats made had forced her to move house and caused her severe emotional distress. She also claimed that lies have had a negative impact on her business.
TMZ, now reports that a judge has ruled that Latasha “failed to produce any evidence that Cardi herself threatened Latasha or made her believe that she was going to harm her.”
As a result of a lack of evidence the countersuit was dismissed. Cardi’s initial lawsuit against Latasha is still ongoing and moving forward to a trial.
