Brian Cox To Make Directorial Debut With ‘Glenrothan’

Succession star Brian Cox is to make his directorial debut with the upcoming feature, Glenrothan.
According to Deadline, Glenrothan will serve as a tribute to Scotland, Cox’s country of birth. The script was co-written with David Ashton and Jeff Murphy.
The story follows two estranged brothers who reunite after forty in the titular distillery town of Glenrothan. Having not spoken since their mother’s funeral and a violent exchange with their father, the brothers return to the family business – the Glenforthan Distillery.
Cox has become well-known for his portrayal of patriarch Logan Roy in HBO’s Succession, for which he won a Golden Globe for Best Actor. His other notable roles include Hannibal Lecter in Manhunter, Argyle Wallace in Braveheart and Hermann Goering in Nuremberg.
