Britney Spears’ lawyer Mathew Rosengart has submitted documents to the court formally requesting for the conservatorship to end this fall.

This comes after Jamie Spears, Britney’s father, agreed to step down two weeks ago, as the BBC reports.

The documents state that “the conservatorship no longer serves a legitimate purpose and should end immediately.”

They also request that the conservatorship should be terminated without the need for any further medical evaluation, which Britney asked for in June.

Britney’s filing echoed Jamie’s from two weeks previous, which said, according to TMZ, “If Ms. Spears wants to terminate the conservatorship and believes that she can handle her own life, Mr. Spears believes that she should get that chance.”

Spears is asking for a “termination plan” to be formulated immediately so the conservatorship could wind down in its entirety.

The hearing is set to go ahead on the 29th September, where the judge will make a decision based whether to accept Britney’s requests.

The documents also confirmed rumours that a family law attorney is already drafting a prenup between Britney and Sam.

Although, because Jamie is still the conservator, it is possible he could block this going ahead.
