Laura Benanti has been confirmed as a cast member of the forthcoming Gossip Girl sequel series.
The 41-year-old Tony-winning Broadway actress will be joining the cast of the upcoming HBO Max limited series.
She will join the likes of Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Whitney Peak, Emily Alan Lind, Johnathan Fernandez and Eli Brown. The limited series will form as ten-episodes set to air on HBO Max, which was written by Joshua Safran. According to a synopsis, the “upcoming series features a new generation of New York private school teens introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl. The series will address just how much social media and New York itself has changed in the intervening years.”
In recent years, Benanti has worked on Nashville, Supergirl, and will be working on another HBO Max scripted special titled, Homeschool Musical: Class of 2020 and will feature United States based students.
