‘Buffy’ Actor Nicholas Brendon Arrested For Prescription Drug Fraud

Nicholas Brendon was arrested last week after he allegedly obtained prescription drugs by means of fraud.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the 50-year-old was apprehended in Indiana and was being held at Vigo County Jail. He is charged with felony prescription fraud and failure to identify himself.
Police reportedly pulled over Brendon after he was seen driving erratically and failing to indicate. Upon pulling him over, police say he “appeared nervous due to a visibly racing pulse” and “shaking hands”.
Brendon then allegedly provided them with the ID of a ‘Kelton Schultz’, whom Brendon claimed was his twin brother.
Searching the vehicle, police found a bag containing “crystal/powder residue” and a prescription drug bottle with the name ‘Nicholas Bender‘. A K-9 unit was then called to investigate the vehicle and discovered amphetamine salts prescribed to ‘Kelton Schultz’.
Brendon allegedly confessed to taking the drugs which were not prescribed to him. He has since been released from jail pending a trial date.
This is not the actor’s first run-in with the law, having been arrested on several occasions for domestic assault against former partners. In 2020, he was sentenced to 3 years probation after assaulting his girlfriend in a hotel.
Brendon is famous for his role in the hit series ‘Buffy The Vampire Slayer‘, in which he portrayed Xander Harris from 1997 to 2003.
