Cara Delevinge Talks Split From Ashley Benson

Cara Delevinge and Ashley Benson broke up in April 2020 after two years together

It has been over a year since the split and now Delevinge is ready to open up about the breakup, explaining that the stress and claustrophobia of lockdown had a negative effect on the pairs relationship.

While she didn’t go into much detail about the split she describe it as “the most trying time” and continued to say that it “really makes or breaks you.”

Cara spoke about the break up for the first time recently in an interview with Cosmopolitan US for the July/August issue.

She stated that she tends to stay friends, or at least be on good terms with previous partners. “I just love all the people I was ever with and want the best for them, you know what I mean? I want to see them grow, see them happy.”

Delevinge also talked about the experience of dealing with a breakup whilst in the midst of lockdown and periods of isolation saying that it “made me deal with it more, which was harder…or better. I don’t know. Everything is magnified in a pandemic.”

Rumours quickly came around shortly after Cara and Ashley’s split, saying that Spring Breakers star Benson and rapper G-Eazy were dating after a picture of the pair kissing surfaced. Benson and G-Eazy have since ended their relationship earlier this year after eight months together.

Cara hasn’t been publicly linked to anyone romantically since her relationship with Ashley ended and hates when people assume she’s dating a woman just because she’s seen hanging around with them.

She explained “People constantly assume that any woman I’m standing next to or photographed with must be someone I’m dating, which has always been challenging – not only on me but on them”

Delevigne describes herself as being pansexual, meaning that she is attracted to people of all genders. She told Variety last year that “However one defines themselves, whether it’s ‘they’ or ‘he’ or ‘she’, I fall in love with the person and that’s that.”
