Singer Charli XCX documented the making of her fourth album, how i’m feeling now, during quarantine and made a film about it. The trailer is out now.
The how i’m feeling now era was kicked off by pictures of Charli laid on her bed, which she took with a video camera, and now we get to see the behind the scene in documentary Alone Together.
Charli told Variety, after announcing the film, “it felt only natural to document myself making this album.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever made music in such a unique situation: being so logistically far apart from my collaborators, but going through exactly the same thing, writing songs about my relationship with my boyfriend sitting in the next room, and being so connected to my fans in such an intense and creative way.”
“Why not add to the pressure of making an extremely personal album within a five-week timeline by putting a load of cameras in my face and zooming in on my personality and insecurities too??! You know???”
The documentary follows Charli and her creative process over a five week period, and we get to see her at work.
Charli’s next album, Crash, began with the release of ultimate pop song Good Ones yet are are yet to receive the full album.
