Chris Pratt Announced As Mario In New Super Mario Bros. Movie

Video game company Nintendo have announced that Chris Pratt will voice Mario in a forthcoming animated film based on the Super Mario Bros. franchise.
The film, which is scheduled for release in cinemas on December 21, 2022, was announced during a livestream event earlier today.
Other stars joining Pratt in the films voice cast include Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser and Keegan-Michael Key as Toad.
Pratt, also posted a video on his Instagram to announce the news, where he recalled how he used to play the original Super Mario Bros. at a laundromat as a child.
“I’m really excited to announce that I’m going to be the voice of that video game (character) I played when I was a kid. Dreams come true. I Love that game,” he said.
The decision to make Pratt the voice of Mario for the film, sparked outrage amongst many fans on social media, who claimed that the role should be voiced by an Italian actor.
