Cillian Murphy Starring In Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’

Cillian Murphy has joined Christopher Nolan’s new feature, ‘Oppenheimer‘.
This is not the first time Murphy has starred in a production by Nolan – having already featured in ‘Inception‘, ‘Batman Begins‘, and ‘Dunkirk‘. Murphy claims the titular role in this new project, starring as the American physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who would become instrumental in the invention of the atom bomb, also known as the Manhattan Project.
It was announced in September that Universal had secured the rights to the new project, outbidding the likes of Warner Bros, Paramount and Sony. It had previously seemed that Warner Bros was the obvious choice for Nolan, having released every one of his major features to date. His last film, Tenet, was released through the studio in August 2020.
Variety reports that ‘Oppenheimer‘ is scheduled to release in US theatres on July 21, 2023.
