CNN Suspends Chris Cuomo Over Defence Of His Brother

CNN have suspended veteran news anchor Chris Cuomo after details emerged about how he had helped protect his brother, amid sexual harassment allegations.

The US news network announced yesterday that they had made the decision to suspend Chris indefinitely, after new documents released by the New York Attorney General’s Office, appeared to show he had helped his brother Andrew Cuomo, who is in the middle of a sexual harassment scandal.

The new evidence released showed that the news anchor had used his media contacts to gather information about the women accusing his brother.

Chris also reportedly made Andrew aware about forthcoming media coverage of the scandal.

“These documents point to a greater level of involvement in his brother’s efforts than we previously knew. As a result, we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation,” CNN said in a statement.

Andrew Cuomo resigned as governor of New York earlier this year, after an investigation carried out by prosecutors, found he had sexually harassed eleven women.
