Colin Farrell is set to reprise the role of Penguin in a spinoff series for HBO Max.

The 45-year-old actor will make his debut as the iconic DC villain in the upcoming film, The Batman, scheduled for release on March 4, 2022. Among his co-stars are Robert Pattinson as the titular hero, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, and Paul Dano as Riddler.

Now, Variety reports that Farrell will continue his iteration of the villain in a new, and untitled, television series.

Few details are known about the planned show, though it will reportedly focus on Penguin’s rise to power in Gotham City’s underworld. Lauren LeFranc is penning the script, with The Batman director Matt Reeves, and producer Dylan Clark, also attached as executive producers.
