The 33-year-old was detained on Tuesday evening in his €170,000 Bentley Continental GT.
In a statement, police informed Sky Sports that: “Gardaí arrested a man aged in his 30s in relation to an incident of dangerous driving in the Palmerstown area yesterday evening, Tuesday 22nd March 2022.”
“The man was taken to Lucan Garda Station where he was later charged.”
“He was been released pending an appearance before Blanchardstown District Court at a later date.”
Despite being charged, McGregor’s team said that he passed tests taken at the station.
“Mr. McGregor was driving to the gym when he was stopped [by Irish police] for alleged road traffic violations,” McGregor’s spokesperson Karen Kessler told ESPN. “He passed the drug and alcohol tests taken at the station.”
The UFC star has been training for his comeback after a fractured leg kept him out of action since last year.
