Cristiano Ronaldo Thanks Liverpool Fans For Show Of Solidarity
Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has taken to social media to thank Liverpool fans for their show of solidarity on Tuesday.
Ronaldo, and partner Georgina Rodriguez, announced on Monday night the death of their newborn son.
The pair were expecting twins, but only their baby girl survived the birth.
In Tuesday’s game between United and rivals Liverpool, both fans came together to show their support for Ronaldo and his family.
In the 7th minute of the game, the number he wears at United, fans and coaching staff at Anfield came together a minute-long round of applause.
Ronaldo shared the video to his Instagram.
“One world… One sport… One global family,” he writes. “Thanks, Anfield.”
He adds: “Me and my family will never forget this moment of respect and compassion.”
