Daniel Lee Is Leaving Bottega Veneta

In a move that has shocked many, Daniel Lee, who some hail as responsible for the brands revival, is leaving Bottega Veneta.
Lee said in a statement: “My time at Bottega Veneta has been an incredible experience. I am grateful to have worked with an exceptional and talented team and I am forever thankful to everyone who was part of creating our vision,” as reported by The New York Times.
“Thank you to Francois-Henri Pinault for his support, and for the opportunity to be part of Bottega Veneta’s story.”
This past summer, almost overnight every celebrity had a pair of Bottega’s featured on their Instagram.
We even had BIA singing “Fendi on my body, but my feet is in Bottega” so it’s clear the brand achieved exponential growth, not only in social status but also in sales.
According to Business of Fashion, in 2019, sales rose 2.2% to nearly $1.4 billion and even managed to keep growing throughout the height of the pandemic and multiple lockdowns.
Taking all this into account, the decision has left many in the fashion world very confused.
Chairman & CEO of Kering François-Henri Pinault said in a statement “I am very grateful to Daniel for having brought his passion and energy to Bottega Veneta.”
“His singular vision made the house’s heritage relevant for today and put it back to the centre of the fashion scene.”
