Diane Sawyer Reacts To ‘Ted Lasso’ Name Drop
Broadcast journalist Diane Sawyer reacted on Twitter to Jason Sudeikis’ character Lasso saying that she was in and now it’s “your move.”
In the season two premiere of Ted Lasso, the character was asked by Hannah Waddingham’s Rebecca, “what do you say to a cocktail,” with him replying.
“The same thing I’d say to Diane Sawyer if she ever asked me out on a date: yes please.”

This led to a response from the Ted Lasso account saying “Oh my… you’ve got me more on my heels than Lady Gaga at the Met Gala,” before finishing off with asking if she liked biscuits which has become the characters go to present to his boss Rebecca.
