Dónal Finn Replaces Barney Harris In ‘The Wheel Of Time’

Dónal Finn will play Mat Cauthon in season 2 of ‘The Wheel Of Time‘, replacing former star, Barney Harris.

Deadline reports that no explanation was given for Harris‘ departure from the show.

The series, based on books by Robert Jordan, follows Moiraine – a member of the powerful all-female organisation, Aes Sedai. Arriving in the town of Two Rivers, she begins a dangerous journey with five companions – one of whom is prophesied to either save or destroy humanity.

Rosamund Pike stars as Moiraine, with the character of Mat Cauthon touted as the other leading role.

Showrunner Rafe Judkins adapted the Amazon and Sony Pictures series, with Uta Briesewitz set to direct the first two episodes. Pike is reportedly producing, with Harriet McDougal and Brandon Sanderson serving as consulting producers.

‘The Wheel Of Time‘ was renewed in May, ahead of the release of its first season – due to premiere on Amazon in November.

Filming for season 2 is currently underway.
