Serena Williams Withdraws From US Open
Serena Williams announced on her social media that she will be withdrawing from the tournament to recover from a torn hamstring.
The 23 time grand slam singles champion last played at this years Wimbledon which she had to withdraw after suffering an injury to her right leg in the first set of her opening game.
Her decision to leave came after talking with her doctors and medical team which lead to her withdrawing from this years French Open to recover from the injury.

Serena joins the growing list of players to withdraw from this years US Open along with her sister Venus Williams also not competing.
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are also on the list of players not competing.
