‘Dragon Ball’ Voice Actor Chris Ayres Dies Aged 56

Chris Ayres, best known as the voice of Frieza from Dragon Ball, has passed away at the age of 56.
News of Ayres‘ passing was shared by his girlfriend, Krystal LaPorte, on social media.
“On October 18th at 8:40pm, my world went dark,” wrote LaPorte.
“Christopher Owen Ayres passed away peacefully, held close by his mother, brother, and girlfriend, and his arm wrapped around his Atticus pillow. He was able to pet the real thing hours beforehand.”

“Chris, I miss your face. I miss your voice. I miss your hugs and I cannot even begin to comprehend that I will never walk in a doorway again and hear, “Hey, beautiful girl.” I miss being your girl. I miss you,” she added.
“I was always one half of Krystal and Chris. I don’t want to be Krystal, but I will do my damndest to try and see what you saw in me, and try to be what the world saw in you.”
Adult Swim shared a picture of Ayres on Twitter with the caption: “RIP Chris Ayres. Frieza Forever.”

Fellow Dragon Ball voice actor Christopher Sabat paid tribute to Ayres, calling him “unmatched in his craft”. Vic Mignogna also offered his condolences and praised Ayres “amazing spirit & determination”.
