Drake has confirmed that his new album Certified Lover Boy will be out by the end of the summer.

It was originally announced that the album will be dropping in January 2020 but its release has been delayed. Drake explained the hold-up on his Instagram story.

He wrote: “I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery. I’m blessed to be back on my feet feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021.”

He made an appearance on Saturday 12 June at Ultimate Rap League’s N.O.M.E. XI battle rap event and even put down $50,000 on the winner.

After the event, NuNu Nellz and Tsu Surf interviewed the God’s Plan rapper.

When discussing an upcoming rap battle at the end of summer, the hosts questioned persistently Drake‘s attendance. He can be seen laughing before stating: “I’ll be there. My album will be out by then.”
