Gene Simmons underwent a kidney procedure in the hospital on Tuesday.

The KISS singer was admitted into Cedars-Sinai Hospital on Tuesday morning to undergo a kidney stone procedure.

According to a source, the procedure only took an hour and the 70-year-old is now in recovery — a stent was inserted in his urethra and should allow the stones to pass-through.

The stent should be removed next week and any potential remaining stones will be removed at that point.

In 2009 he sold one of his kidney stones for charity, selling at $15,000.

On September 13, 2019, Gene tweeted saying, “Apologies to the fans in Salt Lake City. We will come back and do the show at a later date. The truth is, I have to fly to LA to do a medical procedure. Nothing serious. But it must be taken care of now. Thank you for your good wishes. All is well,”

From that tweet, it would seem the rockstar has planned for this procedure a while.
