George Clooney Turned Down $35 Million Paycheck For One Day’s Work

George Clooney has revealed that he once turned down an offer for $35 million in exchange for a single day of work.

In conversation with The Guardian, the 60-year-old actor spoke of his financial comfort and how it allowed him to be more selective with work.

“I was offered $35 million for one day’s work for an airline commercial, but I talked to Amal [Clooney], about it and we decided it’s not worth it.” He explained, “It was [associated with] a country that, although it’s an ally, is questionable at times, and so I thought: ‘Well, if it takes a minute’s sleep away from me, it’s not worth it.’”

The Hollywood star has previously enjoyed a large paycheck for his advertisement work with Nespresso, raking in almost $40 million over the course of two decades.

Currently, Clooney is working to promote his latest picture, The Tender Bar. The film, which stars Ben Affleck, Tye Sheridan, and Lily Rabe, is based on a book by JR Moehringer and will release on December 17.
