Gigi Hadid Writes A Letter To The Press About Daughter Khai

Supermodel Gigi Hadid has written an open letter to the press to address the future of her daughter Khai Malik. 

Hadid and Zayn Malik welcomed their baby girl into the world in September 2020. Though Khai features on Gigi‘s social media, her face is never shown.

She wants to bring her daughter up without shielding her form the world but the 26-year-old supermodel has asked people not to share photos of Khai‘s face.

She addresses the paparazzi, the press, and fan accounts.

“You know we have never intentionally shared our daughters face on social media. Our wish is that she can choose how to share herself with the world when she comes of age, and that she can live as normal of a childhood as possible,” she writes in her Instagram story.

The model then advises those who happen to take a picture of her daughter to “PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE blur her face out of the images, if and when she is caught on camera.”

She adds that “as a new mom, I just want the best for my baby, as all parents do… and I hope this can continue the conversation to protect minors in the media, even if they come from a public family.”

At the end of her letter, she sends thanks to those that have respected her privacy.

“I would like to send a huge ‘Thank You’ to those paparazzi who have been so respectful, since I asked them to keep a distance while I walked with the stroller, since my first trip to NYC with Khai.”

“I see you and I appreciate it.”
