‘Gone Girl’ Actor Lisa Banes Dies After E-Scooter Hit-And-Run

Actress Lisa Banes, who appeared in the film ‘Gone Girl’ has died aged 65 after an e-scooter hit-and-run in New York City.

A representative for the star confirmed Banes had passed away on Monday, June 14th after suffering significant injuries from a hit and run caused by an electric scooter.

Speaking to ET, Banes rep said.

“We are heartsick over Lisa’s tragic and senseless passing. She was a woman of great spirit, kindness and generosity and dedicated to her work.”

Banes was struck by the e-scooter on June 4 while using a crosswalk on the Upper West Side in NYC. Witnesses said Banes had the right of way but the scooter drive barrelled through a red light.

The New York Police Department have not yet made any arrests in connection with the incident.

Banes stared as Marybeth Elliott alongside Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike in 2014 thriller ‘Gone Girl’.
