Hugh Jackman Cancels Broadway Show After Positive COVID-19 Test

Hugh Jackman has cancelled his scheduled Broadway performances after testing positive for COVID-19.

The Wolverine actor was due to continue his run in Meredith Wilson’s musical, The Music Man, but will now be forced to quarantine until January 6.

The musical, which began its stint at the Winter Garden Theater on December 20, was also disrupted ahead of its Christmas Eve show when Jackman’s co-star, Sutton Foster, tested positive for COVID-19. Understudy Kathy Voytko filled the role in her absence, but Foster is expected to return when the show reopens on January 2.

Sharing the news with fans on social media, Jackman posted a video stating that he had tested positive on the morning of December 28. Describing his symptoms as “like a cold”, the 53-year-old actor assured that he was “fine”.

“As soon as I’m cleared I’ll be back on stage,” said Jackman. “Just wanted you to hear it from me. Please stay safe, be healthy, be kind.”
