Indiana Jones 5 crew member Nic Cupac has been discovered dead on location in Fes, Morocco.

According to The Sun, Cupac, aged 54, was found in his hotel room and is thought to have passed away from natural causes.

Cupac reportedly worked as a camera operator on the new film and had enjoyed a long career in the film industry, working on the likes of Harry Potter, Jurassic Park and Star Wars.

“I’m heartbroken,” a friend of Cupac told The Sun. “Nic was such a lovely man.”

“One of the very best,” said another. “Taught me so much when I was starting out.”

The filming of Indiana Jones 5 has been mired by setbacks. In June, production was delayed after Harrison Ford suffered a severe shoulder injury, and in September it was reported that up to fifty crew members had been sent home following a norovirus outbreak.

More recently, COVID-19 restrictions between the UK and Morocco caused doubt over Ford’s ability to reach the set.

Originally intended for release on July 19, 2019, Indiana Jones 5 will now arrive on June 30, 2023.
