Jack O’Connell Cast In Netflix’s ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’
Jack O’Connell has been cast in Netflix’s adaptation of ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover‘.
According to Deadline, O’Connell joins Matthew Duckett and Emma Corrin in the new feature. Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre will direct.
‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover‘ is based on the novel by D.H. Lawrence. The story follows Lady Chatterley, a privileged woman who finds herself married to a man she falls out of love with. Lady Chatterley begins an affair with a gamekeeper whom she falls in love with and goes against tradition to seek happiness with him.
The new film will be the first produced under the Netflix and Sony Pictures partnership. The agreement, reached in April, gives the streamer first-look rights at any films Sony wishes to make or stream. Additionally, the agreement includes a commitment that Netflix will produce a number of the suggested titles.
Deadline suggests that Netflix will have control over the distribution of the new film and can choose a theatrical release at their discretion.
Jack O’Connell last appeared in the 2021 feature ‘Little Fish‘. He has also recently worked on the historical drama series ‘SAS: Rogue Heroes‘.
