Jacksonville Jaguars Urban Meyer Apologises Over Video With Woman

Jacksonville Jaguars coach Urban Meyer has issued a public apology after a video of him surfaced online, dancing suggestively with a woman.
The video in question went viral on Saturday (October 2) and shows a young woman dancing on Meyer’s lap in Ohio. Meyer has been married to his wife, Shelley, since 1986.
The Jacksonville Jaguars lost 24-21 to the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday night. Meyer elected to stay in Ohio to see some family members before going out to dinner on Friday when the video was reportedly taken.

According to ESPN, Meyer said that he had apologised to the team in a meeting on Monday.
“I just apologised to the team and staff for being a distraction,” said Meyer. “Just stupid and so I explained everything that happened and owned it. Just stupid. Should not have myself in that kind of position.”
“There was a big group next [to] our restaurant and they wanted me to come over and take pictures, and I did. They were trying to pull me out on the dance floor, screwing around, and I should have left.”
“The team, I spoke to a bunch of leaders one on one, spoke to all the players.” He went on. “They’re good. They’re focused on Tennessee. I apologised again for being a distraction. A coach should not be a distraction.”
