Joe Rogan has made a shocking announcement that changes the dynamics of his podcast from September 1.

The 52-year-old comedian and podcast host announced that Spotify will be taking the Joe Rogan Experience show and placing it into their category of Spotify exclusives.

Rogan has always taken pride in the independent status of the Joe Rogan Experience show and reassures 9.5 million subscribers that it won’t change the overall creativity. He explained, “Starting on September 1 the podcast will be available on Spotify as well as all platforms, and then at the end of the year it will move exclusively to Spotify, including the video version.

It will remain FREE, and it will be the exact same show. It’s just a licensing deal, so Spotify won’t have any creative control over the show. They want me to just continue doing it the way I’m doing it right now. We will still have clips of the show on YouTube but full versions of the show will only be on Spotify after the end of the year. I’m excited to have the support of the largest audio platform in the world and I hope you folks are there when we make the switch!”

According to our sources, the multiyear deal was struck earlier this year but final tag lines were added to the licensing clause to ensure it covered all basis, with the bonding legal documentation giving Joe a hefty cheque of over $100 million. He’s been part of the podcasting community for over ten years and gained traction due to his often-controversial conspiracy theories, off-topic debates and hosting some of the worlds most recognised public figures; his show often floats as number one across all podcasting platforms.
