John Boyega has opened up about the only project that would see him return to the Star Wars franchise.

The 28-year-old actor was interviewed by Yahoo where he discussed the idea of returning to the now-Disney owned fantasy franchise, explaining that a now-scrapped project would have been his idea of perfect.

His character, Finn, was going to end the trilogy after becoming a revolutionary and leading a class of rebellion, but after the script for Colin Trevorrow‘s film was leaked, the concept was scrapped to never be made into a reality.

In response to this, Boyega has explained, “I think Colin Trevorrow was going to tell that story … The concept art in the Star Wars book has that image of Finn with the blue flag, and you have the AT-ATs lined up with tribal marks, and the stormtroopers take off their helmets. That would have been sick. That would have been dope, hands down.”

More recently, John has vocalised reasons fans of the trilogy won’t see Finn returning as his belief is that characters of colour are excluded from the main storylines. If an animated project were to arise, he would be more than thrilled to join the cast, saying, “Animated? Yeah, that would be cool … You could do it all from home.”
