Johnny Depp: ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Replacement Mads Mikkelsen Calls It A ‘Rumour’
Johnny Depp was forced out of the Fantastic Beasts franchise after he lost a case against Amber Heard earlier this month.
The 57-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean actor was asked to step away from the Harry Potter spin-off film series after he lost his case against Heard where she called him a wife-beater, with the court siding with The Sun newspaper after they allowed the article to be published.
Since his departure from the series, Depp‘s replacement has been unclear, but in recent weeks, Mads Mikkelsen has been slated to take over Johnny‘s role – however, in response to the new rumours, Mikkelsen has spoken out.
Talking with IGN, the Danish actor says, “Oh, that is on the rumour basis as we speak. So, I know as much as you do from the newspapers. So I’m waiting for that phone call.”
