Johnny Depp To Receive Honorary Award At San Sebastian Film Festival

Johnny Depp will receive the highest honorary award at this year’s San Sebastian film festival in September.

The actor will receive the Donostia award which is the highest honorary award anyone can receive at the festival.

In a statement released, the festival described the actor as “one of contemporary cinema’s most talented and versatile actors”.

Depp won’t have to wait long to receive his award as it will be presented to him on Wednesday September 22 in the Kursaal Auditorium.

The actor has also made two previous appearances at the festival one in 1999 and one last year in 2020.

Some of the previous actors to receive a Donostia award are Judi Dench, Emily Watson and Denzel Washington.

Earlier this year in March, Depp lost a bid to overturn a libel case that concluded he had assaulted his ex-wife Amber Heard.

After the ruling Warner Bros. asked the actor to step down from his role in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
