Jussie Smollett has turned the tables in his ongoing legal battle with the City of Chicago.
The 37-year-old has sued the City of Chicago claiming officials created a narrative in his alleged attack that pinned him as the mastermind of a hoax attack.
According to the lawsuit, the Osundario brothers were held by authorities for 47 hours and denied any involvement or wrongdoing in the alleged attack, but Smollett believes after they were promised immunity that they started crafting a tale of a fake attack.
The former Empire actor continues to maintain his innocence and still insists the attacker was a white male and affirms that he doesn’t know whether the Osundario brothers had any involvement in the alleged attack.
Jussie believes the brothers were pushed into a smear campaign by law enforcement, to which he’s named them as Defendants in the lawsuit; also naming Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson and other officials.
The City of Chicago is yet to respond, but they sued Jussie in an effort to recover the costs incurred to carry out the investigation into his alleged attack.
