Katy Perry Announces Launch Of Her First Ever NFTs

Katy Perry has announced the launch of her first range of NFT’s (non-fungible tokens) for her fans worldwide.
The singer has partnered up with Theta Network to create the non-fungible tokens which will celebrate her ‘Play’ residency at the New Resorts World Casino in Vegas this December.
Theta Network is a leading video delivery network powered by blockchain technology.
The partnership comes at no surprise as Perry has also acquired a small stake in the company. Perry has not yet shared specific details regarding what from the NFTs will take.
“I’m both excited and curious to be launching my first ever NFTs later this year with Theta Network. This is a new, unique opportunity to connect with my fans around the world even if they aren’t with me in Las Vegas,” Perry said in a statement.
Theta Labs CEO Mitch Liu also made statement on the news.
“Working with a global icon like Katy Perry over the next year marks an important inflection point in Theta Network’s history and a big step towards global adoption of Theta blockchain.”
NFTs are cryptocurrency assets which prove ownership of a piece of digital content.
Sales of NFTs have recently taken the music industry by storm. Kings of Leon, Gorillaz and Aphex Twin are all artists that have sold NFTs.
