Kelly Clarkson Asks Judge To Restore Old Name Amid Divorce

Kelly Clarkson has asked a judge to restore her famous last name amid ongoing divorce battle with ex husband. 

The 39-year-old singer has asked for “a default judgment in her case”. This will make her officially divorced.

She is also asking for her name to be legally changed.

Clarkson and ex husband Brandon Blackstock filed for divorce in 2020 after 7 years of marriage.

They have been fighting over finances throughout their divorce – including spousal and child support, and whether their properties will be split.

The Blast obtained legal documents that read “Petitioner requests restoration of the former name as set forth in the proposed judgment.”

Brandon is reportedly not “putting up a fight in this department.”

It has been said that these kind of requests get signed off by the judge straight away.
