Kevin Spacey Honoured With Lifetime Achievement Award In Italy

Kevin Spacey, the award-winning American actor, has recently received the honorary lifetime achievement award, the Stella Della Mole, in Turin, Italy.
The award, which is given by the National Museum of Cinema in Turin, recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to the film industry.
Spacey, who is best known for his roles in films such as The Usual Suspects, American Beauty and Se7en has had a successful career spanning over three decades. He began his acting career in the 1980s, and quickly made a name for himself as a talented and versatile actor.
In 1999, Spacey won his first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in American Beauty. He would go on to win his second Academy Award, this time for Best Actor, for his role in The Usual Suspects. He has also been nominated for several other awards, including the Golden Globe and the BAFTA.
Spacey has also made a significant contribution to the stage, having performed in several productions on Broadway and the West End, including Long Day’s Journey Into Night and A Moon for the Misbegotten. He also served as the artistic director of London’s Old Vic Theatre from 2003 to 2015.
In addition to his acting career, Spacey has also been involved in several philanthropic and charitable endeavours. He has been a strong advocate for education and the arts, and has worked with several organisations that support these causes.
The Stella Della Mole award is the latest in a long list of accolades that Kevin has received throughout his career. It is a testament to his talent, dedication, and contributions to the film industry.
The award ceremony was held at the National Museum of Cinema, where Spacey was presented with the award by Vittorio Sgarbi, the President of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto. Kevin thanked the museum and the city of Turin for the honour, and expressed his love for the art of cinema.
During a 15 minute speech, he thanked his close friends that travelled to witness the award ceremony, and shared his admiration for his manager and best friend Evan Lowenstein, saying, “There is one person I must point out tonight because when you have a best friend like I do in Evan Lowenstein, life can be pretty special and working through any challenge is worth the effort. Evan gives me so much advice, counsel, perspective … It’s almost impossible to tell you what he has done. He has not only stood beside me. He has stood in front of me when I needed to be led, and behind me when I needed to be shoved. He is a remarkable man, and it is his ability to take whatever setbacks we faced and somehow pick it up and keep moving forward.”
He furthered, “But it’s not just what he does for me, it’s what I’m able to witness that he does for his wife [Lucie Lowenstein] and his four incredible children and his countless friends who seek his advice.” Toward the end of thanking Evan for his loyalty and ability to keep moving forward, Kevin became emotional and said, “I am truly blessed to have you as my brother, the brother I never had. So thank you.”
Part of the sold-out event saw the actor present a masterclass to an audience where he gave a tremendous insight and behind the scenes stories on films he worked on, including American Beauty, Se7en and L.A. Confidential.
