Kim Kardashian Awarded $2.7 Million In Missguided Lawsuit

Kim Kardashian awarded in damages after suing a company that used her face, body and name to sell knock off dresses. 

In a lawsuit that Kim filed in February of this year, Missguided USA was named as the company to have used her pictures and name in a way to misrepresent their products on their website — basically, the brand made it seem as though Kim had an association with the knockoff products being sold.

The judge ruled in Kim’s favour after Missguided USA failed to respond to the lawsuit, saying, “Missguided has repeatedly used Kardashian’s name and likeness without permission on its social media platforms to promote the sale of its clothing.”

Due to the lack of response to the lawsuit, Kim won the case and was awarded a default judgement. The overall ruling states Missguided USA are permanently blocked from using her face and likeness, ultimately all of her trademarks, and she has been awarded $2.7 million in damages, with another $60,000 in attorneys’ fees.
