Kristen Stewart Reflects On ‘Twilight’ Romance With Robert Pattinson

Kristen Stewart has reflected on her first Twilight audition with Robert Pattinson.
In an interview with The New Yorker, Kristen said that her and co-star/ex-boyfriend Robert had instant chemistry during their first audition for the teen vampire flick.
She shared that director Catherine Hardwicke had actors come to do her LA house and audition. The pair were made to read lines and kiss to test their on-screen compatibility. Kristen faked a swoon and said “It was so clear who worked.”
According to Stewart, Pattinson had an “intellectual approach that was combined with ‘I don’t give a fuck about this, but I’m going to make this sing.’ And I was, like, ‘Ugh, same.’”
“And, whatever, we were young and stupid and, not to say that we made it so much better, but that’s what it needed, and that’s what anybody playing those parts needed to feel.”
The pair dated for nearly 4 years but broke up after Kristen’s indiscretion with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.
When reflecting on the film, she said it was like “college” and found the public scrim “useful.”
“Did you think I was going to do ‘Twilight’ forever? Is that how you saw me? If that’s how you saw me, then you really set me up for success, because I can do way more than that.”
Kristen has since starred in a string of successful films, and is playing Princess Diana in the highly anticipated Spencer.
