LeBron James has confirmed he has received the COVID vaccination, despite his initial skepticism.

Previously James refused to reveal whether he’d accepted the vaccine or not.

Many NBA athletes have expressed hesitancy in taking up the vaccine, with data shared by ESPN suggesting only 90% of players were vaccinated.

In a report by CNN, James confirmed his vaccinated status during a press conference for the Los Angeles Lakers. Giannis Antetokounmpo also confirmed he had taken the vaccine.

“Everyone has their own choice to do what they feel is right for themselves and their family and things of that nature,” said James. “I know that I was very skeptical about it all. But after doing my research and things of that nature, I felt like it was best suited for not only me but my family and friends. That’s why I decided to do it.”

James also reiterated his belief that others should do their research and decide for themselves if they want the vaccine.

“We are talking about people’s bodies and well beings. I don’t feel like for me personally that I should get involved in what other people should do for their bodies and livelihoods. You have to do what’s best for your family.”
