Linda Evangelista Opens Up About Gérald Marie’s Sexual Assault Allegations

Linda Evangelista has opened up about the allegations against her ex-husband.

The 55-year-old supermodel has gone public about her ex-husband, Gérald Marie, sexual assault allegations against him.

Evangelista was married to Marie from 1987 until 1993, and explains to The Guardian during an interview, “During my relationship with Gérald Marie, I knew nothing of these sexual allegations against him, so I was unable to help these women.

Hearing them now, and based on my own experiences, I believe that they are telling the truth. It breaks my heart because these are wounds that may never heal, and I admire their courage and strength for speaking up today.”

Gérald was accused of sexually assaulting and raping four women when he was the president of Elite Model Management and the investigation is currently being upheld by French prosecutors. He denies all charges and his lawyers say that he’s “extremely affected” by the allegations and “intends to actively participate in the manifestation of the truth within the scope of the opened criminal investigation.”
