Malcolm X’s Daughter Found Dead At 56

Malikah Shabazz has been found dead at the age of just 56.

Malikah was one of six children that civil rights leader Malcolm X shared with Betty Shabazz. NBC report that she was found unresponsive at her home.

Her death comes fifty seven years after her father was assassinated. She also died just days after two of those convicted over the civil rights leader’s death are also expected to be exonerated.

Bernice King, daughter of civil rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr., has offered her condolences.

I’m deeply saddened by the death of #MalikahShabazz. My heart goes out to her family, the descendants of Dr. Betty Shabazz and Malcolm X.

Dr. Shabazz was pregnant with Malikah and her twin sister, Malaak, when Brother Malcolm was assassinated.

Her cause of death is not being ruled as suspicious.
